PhD Candidate

MSc Lauri J. Laine is a doctoral candidate at Aalto University’s entrepreneurship unit. With previous experience as an entrepreneur in the underground music scene of Finland, his main interest is in bridging the gap between humanistic and economic conceptions of entrepreneurship by inquiring on the metaphysical roots of entrepreneurship theory through philosophical analysis. Current topics of engagement include archetypal entrepreneurship, process theory and the role of fiction in social science writing. Additionally, for the past year Laine has been conducting ethnographic research in an entrepreneurial eco-village in rural Finland. Laine’s nonacademic activities include family life, excursions into nature, poetry and the arts.
