Boosting female entrepreneurship in Beirut
The first Women Tech Startup Beirut (WTSUP!) saw daylight in February 2019. The project delivers state-of-the-art startup education in Lebanon, whilst also encouraging gender equality in the Lebanese entrepreneurial community. The 3-day pilot event brought together 40 talented participants from early-stage female entrepreneurial teams, and a number of top-notch speakers and panelists from both Finland and Lebanon.
The project is led by Aalto University’s ‘start-up doctor’ and Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Fellow Jukka-Pekka Heikkilä and Doctoral Researcher Fouad-Philippe Saade from Hanken School of Economics.
The aim is that the event will set the stage for a longer-term collaboration and community building between the Finnish / Nordic area startup-ecosystems and Lebanon’s´s startup ecosystems.
